Happy Birthday! Fireworks were banned in Santa Cruz County. I plan to attend the parade in Scotts Valley on July 4th. My art won a first place blue ribbon and a yellow ribbon last summer at the Santa Cruz County Fair for "Best of theme." Happy Birthday! I remember you & Amy Greyson from Camp Tawonga. Do you ever read messages on the Los Altos High School website? You never replied. Happy Birthday, Best Wishes & Keep on Running! At Covington Jr. High, we had to run extra laps around the baseball field for punishment, if we were caught talking or laughing when we were supposed to be quiet. When someone, such as Ann Weiss, Jane Anderson or Mandy Spitzer whispered a joke, I got in trouble for laughing. Bouncing boobs while running were painful! I have not run since 8th grade. I preferred hiking, backpacking, swimming and skiing. In Los Altos, they instilled the values of physical fitness, but they were very strict about our uniforms. One time, my mom washed my white gym socks with something red in the laundry and my socks came out pink. I got a demerit for that, even though it wasn't my fault and the socks I wore to P.E. were my "white" socks before they got washed. My mom was very mad when she had to buy me another pair of white socks. I lost an intermural championship for paddle tennis because the judge, who was a student and friend of my opponent, called her ball inside the line on the tennis court, when it was definitely out of the back boundary line. I was just a few inches away from the ball and I intentionally and deliberately did not hit it because it was out of bounds. The judge was far away, on the other side of the court. I quit competitive sports after that because the referee was corrupt! It's funny what painful memories we have about P.E. and how incidents that are unjust in our formative years can change our decisions and the trajectory of our lives. Since you became a track and field coach, you must have had more positive experiences and your profession matched your name. Go Fielding!

Happy 70th Birthday! I remember your beautiful bright red hair. I celebrated Gail Matthews' 70th Birthday last month. A group of her friends had lunch together and then we all made glass paperweights at the Bay Area Glass Institute in San Jose. That was fun! Gail delivered my paperweight to me a few days ago, so it was great to see her again after so many decades! Best Wishes for Health & Happiness!
